Privacy Policy

Revyou is built to keep your work on your own machine. This policy explains what data is involved when you use the desktop app and this website.

Who is responsible

The data controller is Dr. Bruno Pavletić and Dr. Aurora Britania Diaz Fernandez Pavletić, Ivana Rendića 28B, 10 000 Zagreb, Croatia. Questions or requests: [email protected]. Once the business (Revyou) is registered, the operator's registered name and tax number (OIB) will be added here.

The desktop app

Revyou runs its AI models locally. Your manuscripts, reviews, and documents are processed on your device and are never sent to us. We collect no telemetry and use no analytics. Conversation data is stored on your computer (~/.revyou/, or %LOCALAPPDATA%\revyou\ on Windows) with owner-only permissions, and you can delete it at any time from within the app.

The app makes network requests only in these cases:

• Model downloads — fetching the model files you choose, from Hugging Face.
• Optional web & literature tools — off by default; when enabled, your queries are sent to the chosen public services (OpenAlex, Europe PMC, arXiv, PubMed, Semantic Scholar) or to the page you ask it to read.
• License check — when you activate Pro, only the license key is sent to LemonSqueezy (our licensing provider). No manuscript data is sent.
• Update check — the app asks GitHub for the latest release version at most once a day. No personal data is sent.

The launch list

If you ask to be notified when Pro launches, we process the email address you provide. We use it only to send you that notification (and a single confirmation email to verify your address). The legal basis is your consent, which you give by submitting the form and confirming the opt-in email; you can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email or by contacting us.

The list is stored by our email provider, Buttondown, and is not sold or shared. We keep your address only until we send that one launch email, after which it is deleted — or sooner if you unsubscribe.

Community feedback

On the website you can leave an anonymous star rating and an optional comment. No account, name, or email is required, and no cookies are used for it. Ratings are shown only in aggregate; comments appear publicly after review. Submissions are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile (privacy-preserving, no tracking cookies), and we do not store IP addresses. Please don't put personal information in a comment — comments are public.

Cookies & analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly, cookieless service: it sets no cookies and does not track you across sites. The site uses no advertising or tracking cookies. Buttons and download links are plain links.

Service providers

We rely on these providers, each under a data-processing agreement:

• Buttondown — launch-list emails.
• Cloudflare — website hosting and DNS.
• GitHub — release downloads and the app's update check.
• Hugging Face — model file hosting.
• LemonSqueezy — license activation/validation and, once Pro is on sale, payment processing (they act as merchant of record).

Some providers are outside the EEA; where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data; restrict or object to processing; receive your data in a portable form; and withdraw consent at any time. Contact [email protected] to exercise these. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Croatian supervisory authority (AZOP).

We will update this page when our practices change and adjust the effective date above.
